1 Year Self-Employed! We Made It!

Happy Wednesday, friends!

This week is another huge milestone and one that probably means the most to me!

Today is the one year anniversary of me leaving my 9-5 office job to pursue my dream of working for myself. This is something I never thought would be possible and just a dream that I would talk about but never truly pursue. To leave the comfort of a consistent paycheck is the scariest thing I’ve probably ever done to be honest!

2020 taught us a lot of things and there were a lot of things that accumulated to help me make that decision to leave. I thought if not now then when? When would I take the leap and bet on myself? So after everything we went through in 2020 I got the push I needed and just did it!

It helps that I had the support of my husband and my business coach and my friends and family but I knew even some of them thought I was a little crazy, but here we are 1 year later and I wouldn’t give this rollercoaster up for anything!

No the journey hasn’t been easy AT ALL but all the blood, sweat, and tears have been worth it and will continue to be worth it as I continue to build my brand and my business! I’m blessed that I can work from anywhere at any time. I’m grateful that this year so far I’ve been able to take mental health days when needed and a 7 day vacation with my family without worrying about using all my PTO or what I’m going to come back to once the trip is over. I’m so happy I can have lunch with my dad or take the day off when my mom has the day off, all things I couldn’t do before. I now have the FREEDOM to live a life that I want and am proud of!

I have a long way to go but in the one year I’ve come so far! I make more than I did at my full time job, I live a life that I create and even though it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done I’m so proud I took this step instead of just talking about it the rest of my life! In this first year I also built a course to help other women like myself build a blog that they could monetize whether for a hobby or make it a career! If you want this to be your narrative too sign up for my waitlist HERE to be the first to know when my course is coming back!

I can’t thank y’all enough for being there for me on this ride! It’s just the beginning and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us, because I’m taking y’all with me!

My Summer Essentials

It’s officially summer, so what better way to kick off my favorite season than to share my summer essentials!

I have so many favorites but to name a few: I absolutely love the Tula sunscreen I use it everyday and love that it is a gel like consistency which looks great with or without makeup! Next up Old Navy sandals the ones pictured are my favorites, I have them in every color and they are a staple for me! The next things hats and dresses from LC Lauren Conrad. Now it’s no secret that LC Lauren Conrad pieces are my absolute favorites but in the summer time I wear tons of dresses and love them paired with a hat and hers are my favorites! Fourth thing has to be Tarte Cosmetics the brand makes up a lot of my makeup bag and their blush and mascara are a must not matter if I’m doing a full face or just a 5 minute face. Finally a swimsuit from Artesands, their pieces are curve friendly and the most support cute suits ever! They are an investment but worth it!

I have some travel scheduled and you better believe all these things are coming with me! What are some of your summer essentials? Let me know!

How I Was Able To Quit My Job

Happy Wednesday friends!

I have something special coming back to Lifestyle with Laramie tomorrow and I wanted to take this time to talk about how I was able to quit my job last year. We are coming up on almost 8 months since I left my 9-5 desk job and it’s still unreal!

I wanted to talk about how I was able to quit my job as it was a off the cuff decision even though I had been thinking about it for a while before. The long and the short of it is I started building a blog that was able to support me through brand partnerships, content creator, and educating others. Without my blog I would have never been able to leave my job. My blogging platform on my website has allowed me to connect with my audience as well as brands.

How To Instantly Save Time On Social Media

Happy Wednesday friends!

I wanted to share a common theme I’ve found while talking to several people lately. When it comes to social media they say they are constantly wasting time. I get it! We are all on social media a lot of the time whether you are checking you Instagram or sharing something on Facebook a lot of us use social media every single day! That being said for those of you that specifically use social media for your business, hobby, or anything of the sort it’s easy to get caught up and not be intentional with your posting and waste time.

Over the last year I’ve come up with my own system that has saved me tons of time when it comes to posting on social media and showing up for my audience and you can do that too! Especially if you are just starting out and can’t outsource your social media yet, these tools with help you save time and show up the best way you can for your people!

Tomorrow 4/8 at 6pm EST I’ll be hosting a Facebook LIVE training for you and sharing how I go about content management and planning for my social accounts and how it’s made a difference for me. Click HERE to join the Facebook group for tomorrow’s training!

10 Things To Do Before You Start A Blog

Happy Wednesday friend!

Let’s talk blogging and where to even start when creating a blog. Over the last few weeks I’ve gotten a lot of questions about how to even start blogging and what steps to take once you’ve decided to build a blog.

You’re in luck I’ve been blogging almost five years and when I first started there was nothing out there that gave me the exact steps to take to start building that blog. I went through tons of frustrations and late nights trying to make it all come together for myself. After going though all that I decided to create a checklist for women looking to start a blog that would give them the steps they need to really get started with that! This was a passion project for me as I didn’t have a resource like this so I made one for YOU! This checklist will give you the ten things you need to do before you start a blog and will help set you up for blogging success!

I’m offering this complimentary resource to you in hopes that it will take all the questions out of the process and help guide you on the path of building your blog!

How Your Blog Can Serve Your Business

Happy Wednesday friends!

Let’s talk about blogging and how it can serve you and your business. Most people don’t understand that having a website with a blog on that site can open them up to many different opportunities for them and their business.

Having a blog on your site allows you to offer blog posts as a collaboration opportunity to brands and work with them. It also allows you to work with others in your community with guest posting on your blog or theirs as well. Also having a blog space on your site gives you room to talk and promote different things, whether you have online products, a store front, or offer a service talk about what you do and what you offer on your blog!

Lastly it’s important to have a space you drive your audience to from social media. Social media changes daily and it’s important to have a place that you control and bring people to no matter what!

Mid Century Modern Bedroom Details with AllModern

Happy Wednesday friends!

I have a fun bedroom décor post for y’all today. sponsored by AllModern.

We are almost finished getting our new apartment together and putting the finishing touches on our place. That being said we grabbed some mid century modern décor pieces from AllModern to put the finishing touches on our bedroom. We went with the Huron 26” Table Lamp to put on our nightstands and they are the perfect height especially if you have a taller headboard like we do, they really fill in all that space on either side of the bed. We got them in the brushed nickel and they really compliment the gray and white tones in our bedroom. We also added the Amarion Cotton Geometric Throw Pillow to our bed for a little color and subtle pattern and we love how those touches brought the whole room together!

If you are looking to change up your space whether it be with furniture or art and décor AllModern is a great place to grab some pieces. They offer tons of styles and options at great price points!

Make sure to check out this post to see more of my inspiration for how these bedroom details came together.

Happy Wednesday Friends!

Happy new year again as well! I don’t know about you but this year I’ve been playing with revamping my space for the new year and new chapter. I’m so excited to share with you some fun mid century modern bedroom inspiration from AllModern as I think we are all still revamping our space especially and making everything fresh again!

My favorite space is definitely the bedroom, I love a light and airy room paired with a little contrast which I think you can see from see of these AllModern pieces I pulled. I added a feminine touch with the blush toned bedding option and some different texture as well. I really love home décor and interior design as you all know and I really love the pieces AllModern has to offer. They have something for everyone no matter what you are looking for or room you are trying to revamp. They are the perfect place to shop and super affordable as well with tons of options.

I absolutely love these mid century modern pieces for the bedroom and really played with neutral tones and textures with the leather chair and soft blush bedding and I love the contrast of those pieces in the same room. The bedroom is meant to be a relaxing peaceful place and I think this combination paired with some sheer white curtains would be the best bedroom upgrade!

Classic Fall Style with Loft

Happy Wednesday lovelies!

I have another fall look for y’all! This one reminds me of horse back riding with the high neck and tie detail on the top and the blazer with chic elbow pads this look has all the details! This entire look is from Loft minus the shoes! These leggings are amazing, super comfy but also look more like pants than leggings, a big plus for the office! Again the top has fabulous details and can be worn with jeans for a more casual look. The blazer is a staple piece to have in your closet and this one is perfect especially for this Florida weather! It’s more of a sweater material but has the structure of a heavier jacket along with great details again would be great with jeans or even a skirt.

These pieces are great investment pieces and great mix and match items which are worth every penny. For me personally I tend to sway more towards classic timeless pieces and only purchase a few trendy pieces because the classic pieces will always be in style and a better idea to invest in.

What are your must have pieces in your closet? What do you invest in? Let me know!
